another event that made my weekend was the KR production: Memmories of a Red Autumn. it was by far the best school production i've seen.

1) the set was superb! its so so so so so captivating. the first thing i wanted to do was take a photo of it. its really really nice. it must have cost a bomb! it depicts the real situation very well. 1920s shanghai night life. i so really want it for my own production. the talents, the manpower, the effort, the time and the money that went inot it. i'm so so so envy of them.

2) the singing this year was much much better. credits to the songwriter, and the singers, esp that of the arcapella. they're really good. taking small parts here and there, but their singings proved to be the main icon in the night, at least for me. kudos to weiren. tat was good. and what were you doing trying to 调戏良家妇女 the first thing you see me. haha. i can't really tell whats the good and bad about the songs since i'm not trained in it, but i enjoy them alot and i do think the songs were written pretty not bad. but many times the backgroup music tend to cover over the singings.

3) the live band, conducted by kieth. he's good. talented. good. kudos to him too. it was so cool. he's another focus of the perf, standing high up there and conducting. instructing, conducting.impressive! really am!

4)the actors deserve credits too. at least they didn't make me feel weird, out of place or wat. they are able to bring the message across. liang and ling was good, i think the old master lee is impressive too. nice staunch. liand was good, punctuating humour into the play now and then, being the pimp in the show, his occassional sexual reference makes it so real.

5) the director deserves credit too. she's an ij gal. thats the first thing that came into my mind the moment i saw her. very IJ. impressive work with the talents about her. nice pick of the actors too.

there's just this "little" thing which i don't like - the abrupt ending to it. was expecting some twist to it. but well it ended off without much of an impact. given the climax it was building up to, it was sort of a disappointment.

nothing beats watching a nice performance. it brings back the vive, the energy in carrying on the production. it makes me so wanna bring the joy, the story, our story out to the audience watching it. audience orientated but in the meanwhile bringing fun joy and laughter to all doing it. bring tears of laughter, tears of joy, tears of sadness to the audience. nothing beats it than wathcing a good perf, looking at the message, reading into the the stories behind, the bond, the group behind which made it all happen. it never amuses me that such a perf such short 2 hours could have brought such a big group together, the bond there, the experience there is priceless. ENVY.
